Never In My Wildest Dreams

Never in my wildest dreams did I think we would be so blessed to have purchased such a wonderful piece of Heaven.

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would become Dr. Dolittle of sorts.  See, since we have bought this property we have experienced many different critters. Now I would expect that at the farm, but seriously, in town at our house?
First we relocated a muskrat and let me tell you they are ugly.
Second, just 2 nights ago we had windows open with it being a beautiful night out. At 213am our dog began barking. Scared the you know what out of us. We did not see anything but she was pretty determined she either heard or smelled something. Now last night, I let her out around 10 and something took of running from the porch area. I assumed it was a cat which I am pretty sure it was, but still startled her and made for a security lap around the yard (by my dog, NOT by me, I was safe from the porch with my flashlight). Then again at 1040pm the hubby let her out for the last time before going to bed. All of a sudden he asked where the flashlight was and went to get his coat on. Me, apparently with some kind of new found bravery (because I am a farm girl now hehe) grabbed the flashlight and beat the hubby out to see what she had treed. Of course, a raccoon.. sigh... I literally busted out laughing. Of course it is a raccoon, why not? Never in my wildest dreams...

Now lets travel back to 2 weekends ago at the farm.

I arrive Friday night to get things ready for camping out. We have the greatest location so we have been camping anytime we can. I am a little ahead of the hubby as he had a fire call. I run into the farm house to grab some things and saw some green stuff on the floor. I thought, “what in the world did the hubby spill last weekend and it better not hurt my blue kitchen floor” I continued to go back and get camp set up.
Saturday- we head to the house to get started on things and when we enter, I see more green. I yell to the hubby that something got in the house, so he came in and we started looking. We found the poor little culprit. It was a female wood duck that had gotten down the chimney and in to the house (never in my wildest dreams). The hubby cornered her and got her out side. So I had a little extra clean up to do. Thank goodness it is in construction zone and not finished. I might not have felt so sorry for her then.   Later, while sitting around the camp fire the coyotes decided to let us know they were around. That sound just sends a little chill down your spine (never in my wildest dreams). But it also is an amazing sound to hear and be surrounded by friends who know about these critters. We also enjoyed a display of https://www.cnet.com/news/spacex-starlink-satellite-constellation-is-growing-again-how-to-spot-it/.  We are looking forward to the internet benefits that this will bring and it is pretty amazing to watch in the sky. They won’t be visible forever, so look them up and enjoy while you can. Oh and yes, the first time we saw them I thought we might have more “critters” visiting the farm. (Never in my wildest dreams)

Now this weekend at the farm. Huckleberry Hank made his appearance and he also has been relocated. Again we are thankful to have friends that know about these animals and can help us out.

We did manage to get 100 trees planted last weekend.
Have I ever said how much we love this place. It is our go to.. LOVE IT.

Stay safe and healthy everyone. We truly can’t wait to share this place with all of you.
God Bless

He went for a 5 mile or more ride. He should be happy where he was left.
