Well, the gold mine did not pan out so when I get over my “not wanting to share my total stupidity” I will tell you all what was a gold mine in my eyes, but not in others.
We did have good weather and time this weekend to try and burn some. It was slow moving. Every morning we had frost. So we then would wait till afternoon, let’s just say we did not get everything burnt that we wanted to. In the pictures it looks promising, but trust me they are deceiving. When we were not burning, we were pulling trees. After our visit with the DNR, we found out something’s we can do to improve our woods. We also found out that the woods near the house wasn’t as healthy as the ones out back. I will say, I learned a lot about trees. Excited to see it grow into a healthier woods for us and the wildlife. Can you believe it is Dec. 23rd today? It just doesn’t seem like it. Our Christmas’s are not the same with the girls not being around for the holidays. My poor son and daughter in law, they get the whole experience. I bet they wished they lived further away at times. I have had time this weekend while sitting in this thing my son and husband call a posi-track. I call it a skid loader. I have been corrected. If I keep it up, they may just give in to my thinking. (One can hope) But I was thinking how blessed we are. Not only this time of year but all year long. We are blessed with many things. This weekend, our son, daughter in law, my parents, the farmer and friends from the Omro area joined us in working on the farm. We can not thank them enough. Even tho we were unable to get all the burning done, we had a great time. Thanks for the help friends and family. Most of all a big THANK YOU to all of you who continue to support us and follow these ramblings. Until next time my friends. Merry Christmas
