Not All those who wander are lost

Been Too Long

Wow, I can not believe it has been 3 months since my last update. Truly time does fly by.
Our time at the farm was put on hold for a short time. Our daughter and family moved back from Colorado early August and stayed the whole month of July with us while they got their housing and Jobs all in order. So that means we not only had our daughter and her husband home but we had one of our grand daughters home as well. We spent every moment with her and them. So time at the farm was less. (No complaints) I did manage to get some painting done out there with the help of my son in laws mom. We really did get quite a bit done.
The corn looks great BTW.
Had a few locals help with the mowing.
More recent accomplishments would include getting the roof and foundation sealed up. Also repaired the chimney. All this was done with a little help from the neighbor boy looking for some summer work. He has been a huge help. I was able to pull a bunch of shrubs up and move some dirt for a better placement of the gas tank.  Once we are done outside we will move back inside to finish a little electrical, build a bathroom wall, install fireplace, finish painting and then finishing off the floors. I am excited to do that. First it will be sanding, then painting them all a solid color. Then, I am planning on painting the rooms with a quilt pattern/block. Our oldest grand daughter picked out her pattern already, so her room will get done first. Kinda exciting theming the bedrooms after our grand children.
I have been thinking up some unique ideas to incorporate into a persons stay at the Hideout. Can’t wait to share them with you. I have a few ideas and once we pick what we are going to do, we will announce it for all.
We have been enjoying our time going for walks, 4 wheeler rides, and just plain old star gazing. The other night it was amazing. Moon was not up yet and the stars were beautiful. Saw the Milky Way. Don’t get to see that often in town with the city lights. Took some pictures, I will post, not the best but you will get the idea.
I never want to post anything sad or depressing, but I am going to go there today. Last weekend we found out that a very good friend of ours and her son are COVID positive. She is a widow and our heart breaks for her. She is struggling as she has asthma and other lung issues. Her son is doing fine so far. So we pray daily for her and her son. B and R we love you.  Also my mom has been in the hospital for over 3 weeks. She was on her way out the door 2 weeks ago when she developed an infection. 2 more surgeries and she is now at a swing bed. Thank God we can visit. She is doing better but yet she lost so much with being in bed for so long. We look forward to the day she gets to come back home. It has been a long journey for her and my father. Mom and dad, we pray for you also. Love you.
If you have not figure it out yet, family and friends are the most important. Everything else we have means little to us. But we have family, great friends and lots of love.
Once again, it is a slow process and we can not wait to get it all done to share it all with you. It is meant to be shared and enjoyed.
Remember....
